Fifteen minutes, zero filler.

Indie World Brings Witchbrook, Slime Rancher 2 and R.E.P.O. to Switch

Nintendo's second Indie World of the year aired this morning, and it packed a lot into about 15 minutes. Witchbrook finally has a release date, Slime Rancher 2 and R.E.P.O. are coming to Switch 2, and Sword of the Sea lands tomorrow (GameSpot).

Here's the full presentation from Nintendo of America if you'd rather watch every announcement yourself.

When does Witchbrook come out on Switch?

Witchbrook opened the show, and Chucklefish's witch life sim arrives on January 28, 2027, for both Switch and Switch 2 (My Nintendo News). You play the newest witch at a magic college in a seaside town, and up to four players can attend classes, brew potions and cast spells together.

This one has been delayed more than once, so an actual date feels like a big deal for everyone who has kept it on their wishlist since the original reveal trailer (us included).

What else stood out at Indie World?

Four more announcements stood out from the rest of the lineup:

  • Slime Rancher 2 from Monomi Park comes to Switch 2 in January 2027. Beatrix LeBeau is back on Rainbow Island, wrangling more slimes than any one person should (GameSpot)
  • R.E.P.O., semiwork's online co-op horror game for up to six players, is headed to Switch 2 in 2027. Nintendo's pitch was to loot valuables with your fellow semibots (My Nintendo News)
  • Sword of the Sea from Giant Squid, the studio behind ABZÛ, surfs onto Switch 2 tomorrow, October 29
  • Spirit Crossing, the new game from the makers of Cozy Grove, launches November 16. Among consoles it's a Nintendo exclusive, on both Switch and Switch 2 (Nintendo Life)

What else was in the show?

Most of the remaining games are coming early next year, starting with Super Battle Golf, which hits Switch 2 on March 25. My Arms Are Longer Now (a stealth comedy about a very long arm) lands March 11, and Dumpster Gang brings golf-swinging raccoons in March. Winds of Viridia has a demo out today ahead of its early 2027 launch.

Later in 2027 we get City of None, Tenjutsu, Kitsune: The Journey of Adashino in the spring, and Threads of Time, an RPG inspired by the classics, next summer (GameSpot).

What was the best reveal?

My read is that R.E.P.O. is the one that will take over group chats, since it was one of the biggest co-op hits on PC and chaotic multiplayer is exactly what the Switch 2 does best.

Witchbrook is a close second, mostly because cozy fans have been waiting years to hear a date. Spirit Crossing arriving in less than three weeks, right before the holidays, is the nicest surprise of the whole presentation.
