Editorial Standards

We want Church of Nerds to be a site you can trust, so this page lays out how we report, review and correct things.

How do we source news?

Every news story links to its original source, whether that's a studio announcement, a trailer, an interview or another outlet's reporting. If a story is based on a rumor or a leak, we say so in the headline or the first paragraph, and we don't present it as confirmed.

What happens when we get something wrong?

We fix it and add a note at the bottom of the article saying what changed and when. You can flag an error any time through our contact page.

How do our reviews work?

Reviews are scored out of 10, with a short verdict that sums up who the game, movie or show is for. We only review what we've actually played or watched in full, and if a studio or publisher provided a copy, the review says so.

Do affiliate links or merch affect coverage?

Some articles contain affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission if you buy something through them, at no extra cost to you. We also sell our own merch. Neither one decides what we cover or how we score it.

How do we use AI?

We use AI tools behind the scenes for research and outlines, like tracking what's trending and pulling sources together. A real person writes every article, checks the facts and approves it before it goes live. Reviews only come from someone who actually played or watched the thing (no robots handing out scores here).
