Marvel Will Air a New Avengers: Doomsday Preview During World Series Game 1
Doom takes the mound.

Marvel fans have a reason to watch baseball on Friday. MLB and Marvel confirmed on October 22 that an exclusive Avengers: Doomsday preview will air during Game 1 of the World Series (ComicBook.com). MLB's official account told fans to "tune in to World Series Game 1 for an exclusive preview" of the movie.
Game 1 is on October 23, with first pitch at 8 PM ET on Fox. ComicBook.com reports that the Tampa Bay Rays will face the Milwaukee Brewers. Nobody has said exactly when the footage will run. ComicBook.com expects it to show up an hour or two into the game. That's a lot of baseball to sit through for a couple of minutes of Doom (we'll be watching anyway).
The Fantastic Four's official Instagram added to the hype with a tease about a "fantastic surprise," sponsored by the in-universe Frosty Treats and the Future Foundation (SuperHeroHype). It's not clear yet whether Friday's preview will be a full new trailer or a shorter clip. Either way, we'll take it.
What do we know about Avengers: Doomsday so far?
Joe and Anthony Russo are directing, and the movie opens in theaters on December 18, 2026. Robert Downey Jr. plays Victor von Doom. Chris Evans is back as Steve Rogers. Chris Hemsworth, Florence Pugh, Vanessa Kirby and Pedro Pascal are also in the cast (SuperHeroHype). Marvel's official description says the heroes will "face an existential threat unlike anything they've ever encountered."
Marvel has been rolling out footage for almost a year now. It's been a slow burn. Four teasers arrived between December and January, one each for Steve Rogers, Thor, the returning X-Men, and the Wakandans with the Fantastic Four (Marvel.com). The first full trailer followed in July and gave fans their first real look at Doctor Doom (Sideshow).

December 18 is shaping up to be one of the biggest movie days in years, since Dune: Part Three opens the very same day. A World Series spot is a smart way to reach people who don't follow every Marvel teaser, and it suggests the real marketing push is starting now. My guess is that we'll see a bit more of Downey's Doom on Friday. He's the thing everyone wants to see.
