Fortnite's One Piece Mini Season, Treasure Hunters, Gets Its First Trailer

Fortnite just dropped the first full trailer for Treasure Hunters, its pirate mini season, and Monkey D. Luffy is right there on the key art. The trailer went up on Fortnite's official YouTube channel this morning and ends on a big group shot of the new season's crews, with Luffy up top next to a pirate Hatsune Miku and Jonesy (YouTube).
When does Fortnite Treasure Hunters start?
The mini season is set to start on Sunday, November 1, with update v43.00, when the current season, Override, and Fortnitemares wrap up (FRVR). Epic hasn't posted an exact start time yet. Dataminers expect downtime early that morning, with servers back up around 7 AM ET, and the mini season is expected to run for about a month (VICE).
How did Fortnite confirm One Piece?
Epic teased it in the game itself. On October 24, a pirate chest on the map opened and played a short teaser showing the Going Merry sailing out of the fog, ending on a joint Fortnite and One Piece logo (FRVR). Fortnite then posted the same teaser on its channels with nothing but three straw hat emojis (very on brand for a crew that never plans ahead).
Which crews are coming in Treasure Hunters?
Epic has teased six pirate crews so far (VICE):
- The Straw Hat Pirates from One Piece
- Hatsune Miku and Kasane Teto
- A$AP Rocky
- Lil Uzi Vert
- Fortnite's own Jonesy and Hope
- One crew that hasn't been revealed yet
Epic hasn't officially shown which One Piece characters get skins. Wanted posters spotted in London and Madrid show Luffy, Ace and Buggy, and leakers say the first wave is Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp and Sanji (Beebom). Treat that as a rumor until Epic confirms it, and keep in mind that Battle Pass pricing hasn't been announced either.
My read is that this is the anime crossover Fortnite fans have been asking about for years. Dragon Ball, Naruto and My Hero Academia all did big numbers in the item shop, and One Piece is bigger than all of them right now, especially with the anime in its Elbaph arc and a Netflix remake on the way in 2027. If Epic gives Luffy his Gum-Gum moves as a Mythic, the island won't be safe for anyone.
If the trailer has you wanting to start the story from the beginning, the first manga box set covers East Blue through the Baroque Works arc.
